Job scams are big now also. Never pay money to get a job or to get hired. Real companies looking to hire real employees for real jobs will not ask for money upfront.

Another article i was reading sometime past said that these scams targets the old and the poor.... despicable!!

Fake jobs. They've always been out there, but job sites like Craigs List and even some of the major job boards are magnets for bogus jobs. Usually they want money, but some of them also want to use you as a US based conduit for money lanndering schemes.

There are more than a few of them--usually advertising as some type of accounting job--that want you to use your own bank account to "process checks". That doesn't happen in the bricks and mortar job market.

The main change has been the rise of petty crime, level scams, which are generally more annoying than actually dangerous.
